Sales associates in your area will look to you for leadership, direction, training, and support. There are times when you have to juggle several tasks in a short amount of time while helping customers: scan items, explain a price, bag items properly, count cash back, and keep your area clean–you get the idea!Īs an hourly supervisor, you are responsible for an entire area of the store. The pace can be intense, especially in the evenings, on weekends, and during a holiday season. From every day needs to special occasions, customers need you to take them to that special product. Depending on the shift you work, your job could include moving inventory in the backroom, unloading trucks, or helping customers while stocking shelves. Stocking associates work to ensure customers can find all of the items they have on their shopping list. Paper or plastic? Maybe you can even convince shoppers to buy a reusable bag to help do their bit to save the planet! Remember, heavy goods at the bottom- you don’t want to squish their bread. You can welcome shoppers to the store, and point them in the right direction. Smile!
